We talk about the good, the bad, the highs, the lows, and everything in between, related to navigating a career in Human Resources.
Each guest has their own career story and unique perspective. There is no script and no conversation is the same.
I chat with guests at all levels of HR from interns to C-Suite leaders AND friends and partners of HR. Everyone has a career story.
I cannot count how many times throughout my HR career I have been asked, "How did you get into in HR? or "What do I need to do to get into HR? I often respond to their question with the question, "Why do you want to work in HR?" Similar to my motivation for pursuing a career in HR, the common response to that question is, "Because I want to help people."
Soon after I got my big break in HR, I realized that working in HR is about so much more than helping people. In fact, often times your hands are tied and you can't help people like you want to. I learned that HR isn't about HR at all. It is about the business. The business of people operations.
I have had some great wins in my career and the opportunity to make a huge impact in the lives of others. There were also times I questioned if HR was the right career for me. I know I am not alone. But because folks in HR operate in strict confidence, we rarely get the change to tell our stories.
I'm here to change that by amplifying voices in HR. No, this is not a tell-all podcast. My guests will not be sharing organizational secrets or the latest news in HR. There are other content creators who do that quite well.
