When I pivoted into HR in 2005, I had never been in an HR role before. I didn't have a college degree or an HR certification. I was a single mom of two boys, with a GED, and a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
I had a wonderful mentor who helped me see my potential and the possibility of a bright future in HR. As they say, the rest is history...or better yet, it's MY story.
I started in an entry-level Recruiting Coordinator role and traveled a windy and adventurous road from California to Texas and back to California again, where I currently reside.
Along the journey, I developed personally and professionally. I held various leadership roles in HR, successfully obtained the PHR, PHRca, SPHR, SHRM-SCP designations. I also completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology, a master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology with a concentration in Coaching and Consulting, and a certificate in Personal Development Coaching.
I've been blessed to lead a team at a Fortune 500 company and have consulted with over 100 small to mid-sized businesses on all areas of HR across the full employee life cycle.
Today, I combine my love of HR, writing skills, coaching and consulting experience to help HR professionals fearlessly pursue roles that allow them to authentically be who they are while partnering with business leaders, and serving employees.
